The Thirteenth Day is a one-player game that takes exactly thirteen days to play. Each day you open one numbered envelope. Inside is an instruction or a task. You do not know what comes next until you open the envelope.
We cannot describe it in detail without spoiling it.
The Thirteenth Day is for people who enjoy mystery and surprise. It is not for people who need to know the rules before they begin. It is not for people who want to plan ahead. It is not competitive. It has no score.
You need thirteen days of consecutive calendar days to play. You cannot skip days or restart.
Thirteen sealed envelopes, each numbered one through thirteen.
That is all. You open them one per day.
We designed The Thirteenth Day based on specific assumptions about mystery and pacing. We are not certain those assumptions are correct. We are not certain all players experience the game the same way. We are not certain it produces the same experience twice.
We do not know whether the game ends the way we intended.
The Thirteenth Day is now out of print. The first and only run contained forty copies. They shipped to pre-order customers in March 2015. We are not accepting new orders.
If you want a copy, you will need to find one on the secondhand market.
